When planning an event, one of the first things we think of is food. What do you choose? Italian, Mexican, BBQ? The choices are endless. If you’re planning a wedding all of these choices are messy and saucy! You don’t want to mess up that beautiful, white wedding dress.
Lately there have been some rising trends in catering. What about an all dessert buffet? An array of sweet treats like cookies, cupcakes, mini pies, and just about any dessert you can think of. You can’t go wrong here, plus it saves a few extra bucks in the budget.
Another popular choice is having a food truck at the venue. This is by far a budget saver. Guests can buy whatever they want off the truck. You don’t have to worry if you have enough food or if everyone is going to like it.
Let’s say you’re hosting a dinner party and you want to do something unique. Have your guests pack a sack of their own snacks. This is a rising trend because of all of the food allergies out there. Guests can bring whatever they want and you don’t have to stress about anything, but providing the drinks.
If your wedding or event is in the morning hours- what about having breakfast or brunch? This can be a tasteful spin on a traditional reception. There are so many ideas you can do for this. Feature a breakfast bar with many quiches and mimosas. You can have a “create your own omelet” station or even “flying flap jacks”.
We work with many caterers in the special events industry, but we highly recommend two of our favorites – 1) Hy-Vee Blue Springs & ask for Wanda & 2) Olive Events Catering & ask for Nicole.
When it comes to catering you definitely aren't limited to options. Explore your imagination.
